(Die Hochbegabung) To my knowledge this word didn‘t exist. Until now. I hardly tried to find something equivalent to the quality of the German word „einigeln". Then I thought „Why not let the picture evolve through the one-by-one translation into English"?
I believe it‘s more than fair to have the English language benefit from the richness of other cultures. All in life is about balance, so let‘s donate some words back to our friends in the English-speaking countries. A little thank you to them for tolerating our sometimes limited and violent use of their language.
Back to the hedgehog. Actually they should be winter sleeping these days - not to bad as an idea to escape the current cold and fog... Why do I bring this phrase up? Well, I‘m actually struggling a bit with it in conjunction with the Swiss. Is Berne still hedgehoging itself that much from the rest of the world as it used to in the past? Banker‘s secrecy is dissolving, passport controls (at least for EU citizens) have disappeared and the first Guantanamo captive from Uzbekistan was accomodated by Geneva two days ago. So, tell me, where are the quills? Am I ignoring them? Do I see things through rose-coloured glasses?
